Sorry – again – how not to get into the London Marathon

I am not sure if I should be relieved or sad about the news that – again – I didn’t make it into the London Marathon. This “Sorry, but no…” mag reached me last week:

I don’t know what it takes to make the ballot for the London Marathon, but living in London is not helping. So isn’t, offering to donate your entry fee in case you are not selected. Being a runner may not help either.

I am choosing not to fundraise for this event. I fundraise at least for one event a year, but somehow, the London Marathon doesn’t qualify on my list as a race to raise money for. Maybe, it’s because I love destination races… Traveling from West London to East London does not fall under the category of “destination race”. LOL

Here is a race I am toying with: The Great Wall Marathon in China. 5164 steps. I think there is a half marathon option, which I may be more inclined to do. I live on the ground floor, so steps are not part of my daily routine. 🙂

  1. I just got the London Marathon rejection pack too 😦 On the plus side, I had completely forgotten about the rain jacket they send you in exchange for donating your entry fee, so it was a pleasant surprise to receive that at least!

  2. Had a friend run the half and said it was the toughest race he ever did… Go for it!
