The Penguin’s 100 Day Challenge 2013


There are many reasons why I run.

I run to keep healthy. I run to accomplish goals (11 races last year). I run to socialize with running friends. I run for a purpose with Team in Training to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Many reasons and every runner has them.

Somehow after the last race in November last year I was deflated, unmotivated, no zest for running. So in December I vowed to at least walk 1 mile every day. And I did. Mostly to get my Christmas shopping done, but hey – it worked. πŸ™‚

100day-challengeNow, as January has started I am joining John Bingham’s The Penguin’s 100 Day Challenge, to get my motivation back and get ready for my new life in California. The Penguin’s 100 Day Challenge is the following:

Move 30 minutes each day intentionally!

That’s it. Easy, right?

My stats so far – as soon as it stops raining, I’ll run again πŸ™‚ :

Jan 1 – 70 minutes of walking briskly with friends

Jan 2 – 30 minutes of core training

Jan 3 – 30 minutes of walking with my dad

  2. 8 days down! Thanks for the challenge, it’s just what I needed. Just got the ok from my ortho surgeon to resume activity as tolerated, so I’m ready to get back to running. (Walking, biking, and elliptical are ok but it’s just not the same!)

This sounds good…. so let me see…. on 1st I did walk for 30 minutes ( to have dinner with my friend) and I insisted to walk instead of taking the car. on the second….again I walked to another friends house., 3rd, yesterday I was being lazy and today I did the shopping by car so I will do some cycling….. in a minute. I find this challenge great, I ‘d like to stick to it…. and write it in my calendar.
