Please sign my cast!

I wasn’t sure if this should have been post #4 under my “things I cannot make up” header, but then I REALLY want you all to sign my cast! πŸ™‚

castThe 100 Day Challenge will become a new challenge. I broke my right foot yesterday. I would love to be able to tell you that I was doing something heroic like running 18 miles, rock climbing, helping an old lady across the street, etc. But no, I follow the majority of people with accidents and had a stupid accident at home. I fell off a chair while trying to get something on to the top shelf of my closet. And I didn’t even get a nice pedicure beforehand…

There we go, I can’t even break my foot in an imaginative way… Hopefully that means it will heal easily in an equally average way.

Not sure when I will be able to run again, but for now my left arm and left leg muscles will get great strength training from hobbling around the apartment and using a crutch.

I guess I have time now to write all the blog posts that I have been wanting to write all week.

Hobbling on! Please sign my cast! πŸ™‚

  1. I broke my toe in September and ran the Chicago Half two days later. Fast forward to Friday when my doc said that the toe is not healing as it should and I need surgery to start the process over. OH NO! So I am also putting my half marathon plans on hold this spring and trying to find the gift (ha!) in being an injured runner. Hope your recovery is going well and that you will be back on your feet soon! I am going to commit your “good foods to eat for a broken bone” list to memory!

    • Oh no. Sorry to hear about your toe! Well, let’s hope the good food list works for healing indeed. And maybe the gift is finally a good reason to commit to good foods? πŸ˜‰ Happy healing!

  2. So sorry, Tatjana. I broke my ankle two years ago. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Can’t wait to hear more about your move to San Jose. Take care, Michael

  3. One less glass next time hey? πŸ™‚ So sorry you are hurt – heal quickly and enjoy your enforced rest.

  4. Sorry to hear about your accident – prayers for quick healing, Patty

  5. Catching up on reading – I am so sorry! Get better soon!

  6. I’m so sorry to hear this. Here’s to a speedy recovery! Note that I remember reading a while back that strength training the opposite limb helps keep the casted one in better shape. πŸ˜€

  7. Get well soon! My handwriting hasn`t improved, so you can do any squiggle you want to represent my signature. :-). Sandra

  8. Love to sign it! See, no heroics needed to break a leg, just a chair and top shelf. You should have called 007 to get it from there. Hope it heals fast, rest it and get your other muscles stronger.. πŸ™‚
    Ute xx

  9. Bummer, so sorry! 😦 On a positive note, I am looking forward to reading your posts. πŸ™‚ Hope you heal quickly.

  10. Erghhh… nasty!
As for signing the cast, here’s a quote apparently from Marilyn Monroe… pretty good actually πŸ™‚
β€œI believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, THINGS GO WRONG SO THAT YOU APPRECIATE THEM WHEN THEY’RE RIGHT, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and SOMETIMES GOOD THINGS FALL APART SO BETTER THINGS CAN FALL TOGETHER.”

  11. Noooooo! Heal quickly and remember to keep wiggling your toes.

  12. Oh no! So sorry to hear. Guess you’ve been given a test of your patience for the time being.

  13. Oh no! That’s awful. I hope it heals fast and isn’t too painful.

  14. Ouch! Hope you heal fast. Looking forward the posts you now have more time to write. πŸ™‚

  15. OH…I feel for you Tatjana…I broke a bone and tore everything I could in my left foot in 2006 so in a small way I understand! It is what it is, hope you heal quickly!

At least you fell off a stool while searching in your closet, that seems respectable enough to me… here is a chuckle for you…I was walking and my foot simply slid towards my right leg, I went down and landed on my foot…talk about feeling embarrassed when I tried to explain how it happened…I didn’t slip on anything…I have a weak ankle as this same thing has happened numerous times since, but I’ve been able to catch myself before I land on my foot again… πŸ˜‰

    be well…write…H…

  16. Ouch! Mend well!

  17. Get well soon! Virtual signature!

  18. Hope the foot heals up fast.

  19. Signing: Heal fast ~Sandi
