And then there is pool time…

It’s June already. Time flies.

Finally getting back on the horse – or rather into the running shoe – has been one of the fun things about time flying by way too quickly. Since training started last week with Team in Training, I am feeling much happier. So there is a happy place for runners: in our running shoes. 🙂

pool timeTaking it easy of course. Today I went out for the traditional Saturday “long run”, which was 2 miles for me (hence the quotation marks…). Before my injury you wouldn’t have seen me on a 2-mile team run. Way too short to get out of bed early for. But injury provides a new perspective and I am classifying myself now as a beginner runner (for my endurance and speed). And you know what? A 2-mile run with a team is still fun!

May turned out to be a fairly active month after all. I logged over 41 miles (most of them walking), which was more than I did in my most recent active month of November last year. I gave myself a pat on the back! LOL. And then I took off for some well deserved pool time.

Sometimes I feel that life is passing me by, not slowly either, but with ropes of steam and spark-spattered wheels and a hoarse roar of power or terror.  It’s passing, yet I’m the one who’s doing all the moving.

  1. I hear you… going back to being a beginner is very humbling!

  2. Great to hear that you enjoy running with the team! What are you training for?
