Today marked my first day back to running after the US Half Marathon 2 weeks ago. With such a sunny fall day, there was no way I could pass up on running.
5 miles which went by much faster as I was catching up with my running buddy Preeta who I haven’t seen since the Nike race a month ago.
And you probably all want to know how the US Half Marathon went? Well, it went ok. Not my most fun race, but it was beautiful crossing the Golden Gate bridge nonetheless. But running a half marathon 2 weeks after another half marathon while traveling inbetween to Europe for work is not something I recommend. I posted a full race recap in a different location. I have been having a hectic work schedule and my body was telling me to slow down, hence no running for 2 weeks. I missed it and in my moment of craving I bought a new pair of running shoes, Brooks Ghost. They are a little different than my Asics Nimbus Gel, but after today’s first ‘spin’ on the trail I alreday love them.
With my non-running schedule I also discovered a new post-race treat: deep-fried Oreos. They have to be great post-race food, right?
So that an work is what I have been up for the past 2 weeks. Let’s hope in the run up to Christmas, things will be slowing down, right…
