I still don’t know if I really liked this race. It felt a lot like “done it”, “know the course”, “not excited”. If you have never run in San Francisco, this is a great race. But since my move to the Bay Area, I have run a few races in the city. This race felt like a repeat of the races and training runs I have completed over the past 10 months. So, forgive me, if I don’t sound too excited. I do say it is a beautiful run. A little scary, especially crossing the Golden Gate Bridge. 2 lanes are reserved for the runners, but you have cars driving by on your side only separated by traffic cones. At times that was a little off-putting.
I did have fun though. We had another crew of Team in Training buddies out there and it is always fun running with friends!
This is a picture I took leading up to the Golden Gate Bridge:
OK, maybe it’s a little dark. I had a weird filter on my smartphone camera by mistake…
Yes, and I did stop on the bridge to take a selfie (who didn’t?). As a responsible runner I also tried to stay out of everyone’s way while I took my selfie. Seriously! 🙂
